About our content

Editorial policy

Mental health information can shape important decisions, so it has to be clear, correct and reviewed by a professional. Here's how we create, review and update dafne's content.

Clinical review

Nayeli Ordonez, LCSW, is dafne's Clinical Director. Since the start of her career, her focus has been on bringing mental health care to Spanish-speaking and immigrant communities. She oversees clinical standards across the network and supports the therapists who work with our clients.

Nayeli reviews every page with clinical content and every blog article before it's published. She checks that the information is correct, clearly explained and doesn't promise results.

When a page says “Reviewed by Nayeli Ordonez, LCSW, Clinical Director”, it means she has read and approved that content. The date next to her name is the date of the latest review.

How we choose our sources

We base our content on reliable sources: public health agencies and academic sources, such as the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), MedlinePlus en español, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Whenever possible, we use their Spanish-language publications. At the end of each page you'll find the sources we used, with their title and year.

How we keep content up to date

Every page shows the date of its latest review. We review content again on a regular basis, and also when recommendations or our sources change. When we update a page, we update its date too.
