What is a panic attack?
A panic attack is a sudden episode of intense fear that peaks within a few minutes. It can cause a racing heart, shortness of breath, trembling, sweating, dizziness or a feeling of losing control. Panic attacks are very unpleasant, but they can be treated. If you have chest pain, seek medical care.
When to seek help
- When worry or nerves show up almost every day.
- When anxiety makes you avoid important things, like work or seeing your family.
- When you've had panic attacks or fear having another one.
How online therapy for anxiety helps
With an online anxiety therapist you can understand what triggers your anxiety and how it shows up in your body and your daily life. Your therapist helps you recognize the thoughts that worry you, put them in perspective and find ways to calm down when anxiety appears. You can also talk about what's behind it: work, family, money or the pressure of adapting to a new life. All in your language and at your pace. Questions about anxiety
Can I talk about my anxiety in virtual sessions?
Yes. For many people with anxiety, talking from home is more comfortable than going to an office. You can talk from a quiet place, in your language, with a therapist licensed in your state.
Do I need to know it's anxiety before I start?
No. You don't need a diagnosis to start therapy. If you feel nerves or worry are affecting you, that's enough. Your therapist will help you understand what's going on.
Can anxiety and depression go together?
Yes. It's common to feel anxiety and depression at the same time, and online therapy for anxiety and depression can help with both. Learn more about online therapy for depression.
Can you prescribe medication?
No. Our therapists provide therapy but do not prescribe medication. If your therapist thinks medication could help, they will suggest you talk to a doctor or psychiatrist, who can prescribe it.
Do I need health insurance?
No. At dafne you pay directly, without health insurance. You can choose a single session or a package of sessions and start without waiting for approvals, copays or deductibles.
